These are a couple things I made for Rainmaker.

The pictures above are a phone we needed for The Rainmaker.  We only have one phone so I made a copy out of wood to put in the Sheriff's office.  The cradle for the earpiece I made from the handles of forks.  I put them in the vice and bent them with a hammer.  When they were the same size as the real phone I epoxied them in place.  The earpiece is made from a piece of wood I saved from a broken headboard.

Our director wanted a stereoscope for The Rainmaker.  Because of the budget it was decided that I would make one.  The pictures below are the process I used to make the viewer.  The curved part is made of two layers of posterboard glued together.  I used a coat hangar for the metal holder and the rest is wood with one piece of metal holding the card holder on.  I trimmed it with a scrap of green velour we had.  When it was finished I painted it with oil paint so the posterboard would not warp.

The handle is made from a spindle that I saved from a broken chair.

The picture on the left is where the stereoscope lives on the set.  I also sewed the rag doll in the basket that I found at a garage sale.  The stereoview card I made by printing out a card I found on Ebay then gluing it to a piece of cardboard from a cereal box.  Cereal boxes have great cardboard, plus they are free.
